It’s difficult to put it in writing – we suggest that you ring us and we will try to explain what is so special about this place!
A ‘barefoot-in-the-sand’ hideaway on an idyllic beach……
”Absolutely wonderful….. The owners were amazing and the whole stay was unforgettable. Everything you said about La Sagesse is absolutely true and we see why you love it. Thanks for sharing the secret Gerry!”
This is the most beautiful little undiscovered gem of a place that we know. We discovered it completely by chance when exploring Grenada by jeep in 1998 and we have been in love with the place ever since!
La Sagesse has been described as one of the most romantic locations in the Caribbean and it is hard to argue with that description. It is an old colonial manor house with five rooms on the edge of one of Grenada’s loveliest beaches. There are also five new rooms and two older cottages in the grounds overlooking the dramatic crescent-shaped beach.
The rooms are simply furnished and all share this magical corner of Grenada but it is the mood, the charm and the atmosphere of the place that is so compelling. La Sagesse is one of those very special places in the world – barefoot Caribbean at its best, once visited never forgotten.
You can watch the fishermen set sail in the early morning sun whilst enjoying breakfast of fresh fruit and home baked breads in the casual little restaurant on the beach. Laze the day away walking the half mile of sand or go off hiking on the trails. Back for a swim and sunset cocktails before enjoying the freshest of local produce – including the day’s catch of course – in the idyllic setting of the restaurant by candle and moonlight.
An unforgettable laid-back hideaway which is off the beaten track so vehicle hire is a good idea – although some visitors just kick off their shoes and forget the world for a week or two and that is not difficult…..
Owners Mike and Lynn, along with Mike’s daughter – Samantha, will treat you like house guests – the lovely local staff will regard you as long-lost friends. You need to experience it for yourselves to really understand….
