Holidays in Grenada - what to see
St George's
Countless writers have described St George's as the prettiest capital in the Caribbean and it really is a stunning setting. The horseshoe of
the Carenage runs around the harbour and is home to several waterside
restaurants. The town itself has a wide range of shops and stores as well
as many historic buildings to visit. The Saturday morning market is definitely
not to be missed.
The rainforest
Everyone who comes to Grenada should take a trip to the tropical rainforest in the Grand Etang National Park. It is easy to reach the park in your hired car and there are several trails set out for you to follow. However we strongly recommend that you take a trip with one of the experienced local guides who will lead you through this wonderland of waterfalls and vegetation while explaining all the fascinating features of the forest and its wildlife.
Cricket heritage centre
Grenada is now the home of the West Indies Cricket Heritage Centre. This impressive permanent exhibition is housed in the new National Cricket Stadium just outside St George's and was opened officially on October 9th 2009. The exhibition features an amazing collection of cricket memorabilia from all eras of West Indies cricket, with bats, blazers, shirts, photographs and books featuring all the great names of Caribbean cricket. This centre is a must for all cricket enthusiasts.
