About Le Phare Bleu
We at Just Grenada have always tried to find unusual characterful places to stay for our clients to enjoy. Places with a special atmosphere and in lovely locations, usually just off the beaten track a little, in an undiscovered part of the island. There are few such places in our collection which have now become firm favourites with our clients – and now we have now found another gem which we are delighted to offer.
Le Phare Bleu is a lovely little place, a small collection of villas and suites set in tropical grounds on the water’s edge of Petite Calivigny Bay. At the centre of the estate is the restaurant which serves delicious food using their own home-grown produce wherever possible. Just along the jetty is the source of the name of this little hotel – Le Phare Bleu – the Blue Lighthouse. Actually it is a Lightship which was sailed into Grenada by Jana and Dieter, a Swiss/Czech couple in 2006. It’s now an atmospheric bar serving cool drinks and offering live music on Friday nights.
Le Phare Bleu is a unique hotel in a peaceful part of Grenada and the villas and suites are furnished and equipped with great style and character. There are 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom villas and 1 bedroom suites and all have lovely views of the tropical gardens or the ocean. There is also a luxurious 2 bedroom villa set in it’s own tropical garden with a wonderful view of the sea and a pathway leading to the beach. This is a very Eco-friendly place and the hotel is deeply involved in some fascinating conservation and ecological projects.
There are water sports to enjoy here – kayaks, hobie cats and paddle boards – or snorkelling from the beach, or just enjoy a good book with your toes in the sand or lounge by the pool. Grand Anse Beach and the capital St Georges’ are within 30 minutes drive and a jeep would be a good idea when staying here.
We think Le Phare Bleu is a delightful and unique experience – it would ‘twin’ perfectly with a stay in the more traditional Grand Anse area as part of a lovely two-centre holiday.
