Meet our experts…
Between us we have visited every hotel, every cottage, every villa on every island. We have been to the bars and restaurants too – and the sights and attractions – done the hikes, been on the boats, shopped in the mini-markets and met the locals . . .
My love of Grenada began many years ago whilst I was living and working in neighbouring Venezuela. My job would often take me across to both Grenada and Tobago so it must have been fate then that I should stumble across Just Grenada shortly after returning to the UK in 2005! Much of my working life has been spent in travel, either in tour operating or as a travel agent, but it’s nice to be part of a small specialist company where there is so much attention to detail. We have become real experts at creating unique multi-centre holidays – some of which just focus on different regions of Grenada whilst others involve seeing more than one island in the same holiday. I love the challenge of putting these trips together and making sure all the connections are smooth and seamless, and it is so rewarding when all the pieces of the jigsaw come together and they always do in the end!
I have visited Grenada many times now (lucky me!) – it really is such a special place and I can see why so many of our clients return time and time again.
Since taking a Freddie Laker flight in the 70’s I have been hooked on travel and my family and I love to travel to new places – we have recently had an exciting trip to the USA visiting lots of different places. The absolute highlight was our visit to a Rodeo – unforgettable! My other passion is arranging holidays for other people and I really enjoy creating itineraries to help people get the best out of the Caribbean. Telling our clients about my favourite little roti shack is a lovely part of the job – especially when they come back home and ring to tell me how much they enjoyed the holiday I have arranged!
As a parent, I especially enjoy helping families get the best possible holidays – often the simplest things are best – like a cool drink and the fresh catch of the day at La Sagesse. Grenada has so much to offer families with children of any age – the range of activities and things to see would keep any child entertained for ages – not to mention those glorious beaches
I joined the team here in 2002 and it has been really pleasing to see the Caribbean programme develop and grow as we have added more and more islands to the Just Grenada Group. My main role is overseeing the administration of holiday arrangements, but I also love arranging holidays for clients using my knowledge of the islands that I have visited. In an age where lots of people just want to click a mouse to arrange their lives, it is nice to find so many people who would rather talk to a real person with knowledge – especially about something so important as a big holiday.
In 2014 I visited St Kitts & Nevis with Laura – we both found these two islands enchanting and quite different from Grenada and then earlier in 2015, I visited Grenada and St Lucia with Mandy. The contrasts between the different Caribbean islands are much more distinct than many people realise – it makes them all so interesting but in different ways.
Since leaving school (not too many years ago!!) I have always worked in the travel industry and I joined Just Grenada in 2012. I love being part of a team which make holiday dreams become realities. I deal with the administration of our clients’ holidays ensuring that all the i’s are dotted and t’s crossed. It is the detail which counts so much – reserving the best seats on the plane, arranging comfortable and convenient transfers and of course making sure we reserve the very best rooms!
I love to travel and especially enjoy visiting the Caribbean. I have now visited all but two of our islands – forging close working relationships with the hotels we deal with. It is so nice to meet the staff in the Caribbean that I am emailing every few days. I have two children who will soon be old enough to enjoy the Caribbean themselves and I already have a little hotel in Grenada in mind for their first visit!
Our Team on Grenada
The top level of customer service we provide in the UK continues when our clients get to Grenada. Our representatives on the island are Caribbean Horizons – we started our company with their help in 1998 and we continue to work very closely with them.
Anne Campbell and Quaver Mc Guire and their team will meet you at Grenada Airport and take you straight to your chosen accommodation in an air-conditioned vehicle. They will be on hand 24 hours each day to help and assist in any way.
They can help you explore Grenada to the full – trips around the island with experienced and fascinating guides, hikes through the rainforest, boat trips to see whales and dolphins or tours of the award-winning tropical gardens of Grenada and many more things as well. You could even fly up to a nearby island and join a yacht as it glides through the amazing scenery of the Grenadine Islands – amazing!
Although things rarely go wrong in Grenada, if you do need help and assistance whilst on the island you can rest assured that the Caribbean Horizons team will be there to help and will know exactly what to do.
We have a long association with various charities in Grenada and we have helped specific projects in other islands too.
We are major supporters of the Bel Air Home for Children & Adolescents in Grenada. This amazing place provides shelter, care and encouragement to a number of children who have found themselves in distressed situations for a variety of reasons. We have helped to raise thousands of pounds over the years to help with their incredible work.
We also support the GSPCA – providing welfare and treatment for abandoned animals – we sent our local vet to Grenada in 2010 to work with local vets, creating an animal care programme. John was an enormous help to the local vets giving advice about new techniques for surgery. He also helped with much-needed neutering and speying programmes.
The Grenada Goat Dairy is a fascinating project based at the Belmont Plantation. The project has been established to train local farmers to help them create a regular income by assisting in the production of high quality goat dairy products. The excellent goat’s cheese produced by the dairy is supplied to local restaurants and markets, and the farmers are developing their skills in dairy farming and production. We are really pleased to be involved in this innovative project as a sponsor.
Pack for a Purpose
We are delighted to be a supporter of this excellent charity. It is so simple – when you are packing for your holiday, just pack a small bag with things that are desperately needed by charities in the islands – light things like pens and pencils, soft toys etc are especially welcome in the children’s homes – and it can be collected from you at the airport. It is really easy for you to help – ring us for full details.
